Neil and his 2 Uncles, Brian and Barry, on Surfari with John Creedon.

Neil Britton, head surf instructor and owner of Fin McCool’s, comes from a family of surfing pioneers in Ireland.

“In 1967, my grandmother returned from America with some new toys for her sons. Two Surfboards. They used them as boats for a couple of years before some visiting Australian tourists showed them how to use them. Thus was born the Britton Family’s Love Affair with Surfing”

Neil Britton, Owner @ FinMcCools

The Surf School provides lessons from local Surf Instructors for all standards of surfers and runs daily Kids Surf Camps during the summer months. The surf school is fully approved and insured by the Irish Surfing Association and the shop is stocked with all the Surf Gear you could ever need, specialising in Longboards.

"Three Generations of Britton Surfers have now graced the waves of Rossnowlagh"

Following in the footsteps of his pioneering Uncles, Neil set up Fin McCools Surf School in the Summer of 2006 when he arrived back from his global travels to the idyllic beginner beach break of Rossnowlagh.  The beach here at Rossnowlagh is considered to be one of the safest and easiest beaches to learn on in the world. The Surf School is a short 20 meter walk from the Golden Sands of Rossnowlagh Beach so there is no need for any tedious and time-consuming bus rides. The Fin McCools complex now includes changing rooms, a fully stocked Surf Shop and the accommodation option of a beach apartment rental which sleeps 4.
